I am grateful that I’m able to spend my days helping others. My career path has covered a lot of territory - I was 30 before I knew “what I wanted to be when I grew up.” Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a project manager, technical consultant, and systems engineer in the technology industry. I also have several years of experience in telecommunications and radio. While each job had its good points, I was never really satisfied or entirely fulfilled with my work. Why did I become a therapist? Well, when I decided to get out of the technology field, I spent a lot of time thinking about my work history and came to the realization that helping people is what has always given me the greatest sense of professional satisfaction. I’ve had some personal challenges in my life as well, so I know what’s it’s like to feel hopeless and overwhelmed, and the challenges that come with trusting another to support you in healing and growth. Working with my clients to help them build the lives and relationships they want has proven to be tremendously rewarding.

Before opening my therapy practice, I worked for several years at a small counseling agency outside Sacramento where I was a therapist, intake coordinator, and member of the management team.
I have clinical experience helping adults, children, and adolescents with a wide range of concerns including relationship issues such as communication, trust and intimacy, codependency, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, anger, neglect, trauma, and abuse.

My education includes a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Brown University. I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of California (License # MFC43212). I’ve received post-graduate training on a variety of clinical subjects including couples counseling, codependency, personality disorders, sexual abuse, and solution-focused therapy, and I continue to work on enhancing my clinical knowledge and skills through workshops, seminars, books, and other trainings.

On the personal side, my wife, daughter and I share a home in the Sacramento area with our three dogs. I grew up in Northern California and have lived in the Sacramento area since 1992. When I’m not at the office, I can usually be found working on a home renovation project with my wife, out riding my bike, taking pictures, or working on my golf swing.
